MAIN LANDSCAPE DESIGN PROJECT OF CHILDREN PLAYGROUND ŠKOLAROVO, LOVRAN
The children’s playground is designed as a multifunctional zone with facilities for children of all ages. It has modern organic forms and is in harmony with the natural open space. The base of the play equipment is made of cast anti-stress rubber in wavy shapes in blue and yellow shades reminiscent of summer and the sea.
The combined playhouse contains climbers, a spiral slide and a seating area with two smaller benches inside the children’s play equipment on the ground floor. The spring swing for the youngest visitors to the park is in the shape of a boat following the existing marine theme of the park. Large circular swing is reminiscent of a marine net. The track inside the playground that connects the cast rubber was designed from stabilized gravel – stabilizer, but due to lack of funds it was not built, but gravel was placed instead.
The main trail connects to the children’s playground and bowling alley and follows the existing modeling of the terrain and through a natural bamboo grove leads to the main road.
In addition to formal devices for children to play inside the playground, informal structures such as wooden pillars were also constructed. They are set up as a structure for children to play, pull and run. There are also three seating structures and an organic form sandstone on the playground.
In addition to the children’s playground, there is also a bowling alley as another element for the play of adults and children, which serves as an educational element for learning the traditional Mediterranean social game. During the design process, an effort was made to keep all the existing high vegetation, and especially the bamboo forest as a very valuable element in the space.
As a visual and physical barrier from the surrounding buildings and plots, and as a green frame with facilities for children’s play, a dense evergreen hedge of the species Photinia x fraseri “Red Robin” was planted.
