The property in the center of a small village had to be cultivated for the purpose of renovation seedlings Lovran cherries , traditional fruit varieties of this region , which is due to the great popularity became a monoculture and gradually completely disappeared from the coastal landscape due to its characteristics of cross pollination. Therefore, in cooperation with the Municipality of Lovran and the Faculty of Agriculture Zagreb, the property was designed for research of varieties and the best ways for the pollination of this Chery spicies what was managed by agronomists over several years. The project consisted in creating a logical grid of sorts, mostly with seedlings Lovran cherries, where the first course be designed and machined to plan for considerable discrepancies in height, and in order to facilitate the processing and harvesting, followed by planting fruit trees. It is interesting to note that this variety, thanks to the positive results of these studies, became a member of the Croatian variety list titled “Lovranska cherry”.
